American Idol 시즌 5에 나왔던 Chris Daughtry. 나는 음악에 있어서 내 귀에 좋기만 하면 다 듣는 잡식성이지만, 특히 Rock을 좋아하기 때문에 크리스 도트리를 몹시 좋아했다. 크리스 도트리는 출연자들 중에 유일하게 Rock을 추구하고 있었으니까. 뭐 그렇다고 해도 테일러 힉스나, 엘리엇 야민도 싫어한건 아니다(...잡팬인 것이다.)
아무튼 4위로 아쉽게 떨어졌던 크리스 도트리가 자신의 이름을 내건, DAUGHTRY라는 밴드로 데뷔를 했다. ...음 데뷔한지 조금 됐다.(느리다) 재미있게도, 우승한 테일러 힉스나 그 외 멤버들보다 월등히 뛰어난 판매량을 보이고 있다. 테일러 힉스 앨범도 신나고 좋던데 (딱 테일러에게 기대한 앨범?) 왜 잘 안팔리는 지 의문. 홍보가 문제인걸까?
앨범 명은 밴드 명과 같은 Daughtry다. 전 곡을 들어봤는데, 역시 나는 강한 분위기인 타이틀이 가장 좋았다. 타이틀이 가장 좋다 뿐이지, 다른 노래들도 전부 취향이었기 때문에, 꼭 마음에 든다. 허나 라이브 영상은 아직 기대에 못미치는 듯. 아메리칸 아이돌에서 보여줬던 실력은 긴장 속에 숨어버렸나?
도트리. 앞으로 어떻게 발전할 지 그 모습이 기대된다
