래콘터스는 어쩌다 듣게 되었었는데 일단 노래가 너무 좋았다. 두 개 앨범을 듣는 내내 만족했었다. 언제나 그렇듯 상세멤버 정보는 잘 검색하지 않는다. 누가 따로 소개시켜줘서 알게 되는 경우를 제외하고는.. 래콘터스도 마찬가지였는데 그래서 여기에 잭화이트가 있는지 몰랐었다. 난 잭 화이트 이미지가 왠지 별로라서; 일부러 화이트 스트라입스 노래를 피해 들었었는데 말이다. 아무튼 이걸로 허사가 되었다. 이제는 더 데드 웨더 노래까지 듣고 있으니까 할 말이 없네요. 하지만 여전히 화이트 스트라입스는 좀 듣기 망설여지고 그렇다.

1집이나 2집이나 크게 변함없이 좋음. 잭 화이트의 다른 밴드들 앨범보다 더 귀에 들어온다. 다른 걸 덜 들어서 그럴지도 모르고...?

등골에 소름이 쫙 끼쳤던 뮤직 비디오. 라이브가 너무 마음에 들어서 뮤직 비디오를 찾아 본 것이었는데 후하후하. 이건 지나치게 멋졌고 동시에 무섭고 그랬다. 일렉트로나 신스팝 쪽 뮤직 비디오들을 보면 참 기발한 것들이 많은데(왜 그런진 모르겠지만), 이것 또한 마찬가지. 이쪽 계열은 뮤직 비디오가 참 감각적이다.

2009년 Echo Awards에서 공연한 거에서 혹 갔는데, 아으으으으 데이브 너무 멋있다. 62년생이면서 어찌나 섹시하던지. 게다가 무대매너나 노래 실력, 전체적인 감이 너무 좋아서 이 곡 공연만 보고도 뻑갔다. 그 와중에 이 뮤직 비디오까지 봤으니까ㅜ_ㅜ 줄스 홀란드 라이브는 나쁘진 않았는데 저 에코 어워드 라이브보단 음향이 별로였음.

전에도 디페쉬 모드 들어보려고 한 적 있었는데 앨범이 너무 많아서 포기(..)하고 말았는데 으윽.. 다시 열정이 생기려고 하누나...

뮤직 비디오가 감독판이랑 일반판 따로 있다. 당연히 감독판이 더 노골적이다. 이게 감독판. 감독판 영상이 몇 초 더 길다.

유명하지만 여성 홍일점인 애나 말고 남자 전원 게이. 리드 싱어인 제이크 넘 귀엽당ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 전에 카사비안 인터뷰 봤던거 생각남. 톰이 씨저 시스터즈 즐겨 듣는다고. 그리고 써지 인터뷰...

엿 드세요. Ana Matronic은 V페스티발 때 인사불성의 나를 돌봐줬어. 그들은 멋진 그룹이야. man.

근데 그들 중 일부는 좀 이상하긴 해. 난 마스카라와 립스틱을 바른 한 남자 멤버와 얘기했었을 때 생각했지. '됐어. 이정도면 괜찮아~' 그래서 즐겁게 대화할 수 있었어. 그러다 문득 힐끗 아래를 봤는데 그는 치마를 입고 있었어! 그것도 망사! 좋은 남자지만...

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ써짘ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 아씨 다시봐도 빵터짐. 출처는 당연히 카사비안 엠파이어.

씨저 시스터즈 노래가 좋다는 건 익히 들어서 알고 있었는데, 우째 잘 듣지는 않았었다. 내 취향이 아닐 거라고 생각했나... 멤버들이 빤짝이는 의상을 입고 있던 사진을 본 탓이었나...

아무튼 어쩌다가 받았던 만도 디아오 스페인 MTV 인터뷰 영상. 스패니쉬로 더빙까지 되어서 내용을 전혀 알 수 없는 최악의 영상이었지만, 비욘과 구스가 너무... 절정으로 예쁘고 중간중간 만도 디아오 뮤직 비디오까지 삽입되어 있어서 못지웠다. 만도 디아오 뮤직 비디오 절반, 절반은 자신들이 좋아하는 곡들 뮤직비디오 삽입이었던 듯. 여러 아티스트들 노래가 나왔지만서도(구스타프의 동생들 밴드인 슈가플럼 페어리 노래도 거기 있더라. 유치한 놈들ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ) 그 중 하나가 이 필티/고지어스였다. 거기서 보았던 건 일반판. TV니까 뭐.

한눈에 뻑갔다. 난 화려한 영상에 약한데, 일단 영상이 너무 좋더라. 팡팡 스파클이 터지는 느낌이었다. 이 뮤직 비디오에서 내가 제일 놀랐던 부분은, 처음 등장하는 흑발머리 아가씨가 아가씨가 아니라는 점이었다. 나중에 보니 가슴이 전혀 없더라... 알고나니 더 예뻐. 제이크 남창으로 나오는것도 넘 웃기고 재밌었다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 암튼 뮤직 비디오에 맞춰 노래도 신이 났고, 결국 1집 앨범을 달달달 들었는데 그래서인지 아직은 2집보단 1집이 좋다. Music Is The Victim이 제일 좋음.

장르 알 수 없고, 정체 알 수 없고, 하지만 진짜 신나는 그룹.

갱 오브 포 만큼 신나는 펑크 음악이 또 있을까? 처음 Entertainment! 앨범을 들었을 때의 충격을 잊을 수가 없다. 1979년의 사운드는 거칠면서도 흥이 났다. 첫 트랙인 Ether 에서 시동을 걸었다면 두번째 트랙인 Natural's Not In It 에서는 속도를 올렸고, 세번째 트랙 Not Great Men에서 특유의 거친 사운드를 재미있게 보여주었다. 그리고 이은 네번째 트랙이 내가 제일 좋아하는 Damaged Goods다. 시작할 때부터 지겹지 않았던 기타 루프는 끝까지 끈기있게 이어진다. 보컬인 존의 무성의한듯 하면서도 흥을 타는 목소리에 노래 전체가 다 즐거웠다. 라이브 할때도 참 깨방정을 떨며 하시더라... 개인적으론 이런 보컬들이 보는 재미가 있어서 좋아한다.

여타 많은 옛 밴드들이 그러하듯 이전에 해체했다가 2004년부터 다시 재결성. 줄스 홀랜드 영상에서 한 Damaged Goods 라이브에서 밴드 멤버들은 세월을 피하지 못한 모습을 보여주었지만, 노래의 흥겨움 만큼은 여전했다. 지금 내 윈앰프에서 가장 많이 재생된 곡. 언제 들어도 좋다.

레이크스 해체OTL 고작 세 개의 앨범을 냈을 뿐인데 왜 해체하는거야. 햇살 나른한 날에 이 노래 들으면 기분이 참 좋았었는데, 으으... 게다가 3집은 올해 발매했단 말이다. 2집보단 별로였지만, 그래도 다른 몇몇 밴드들이 말아먹었던 앨범들에 비하면 괜찮았는데(제발 조니 보렐은 그 잘난 입을 다물던지 음악으로 보여주길 바란다...). 자신들이 공연에 있어서 100퍼를 발휘하지 못하게 되면 관둔다고 생각했고 그래서 관둔단다. 아쉽기 짝이 없다. 이미 유튜브 덧글에는 레이크스 원망이 자자하더라만, 그런다고 해체한 밴드가 하루아침에 돌아오진 않겠지.

각자 나아가서 자신들의 음악을 또 좋게 만들어 내길. 몇 년 지나서 재결합 해도 좋고. 사이 그렇게 안좋아져서 틀어졌던 크리드도 재결합한 마당에ㅋ...

포럼에서 재미있는 뮤직비디오 하면서 올라왔던 영상. 처음 보자마자 너무 귀여워서 반했다. 노래도 발랄한 편이라 마음에 들었고. 마지막에 관에 묻히는 장면에서 깜짝. 진짜 죽어버리시다뇨ㅋㅋㅋ

나도 잘 모르는 캐나다 가수다. 조엘 플라스켓이라는 이름으로 솔로 앨범도 내지만, 뒤에 Emergency를 붙인 Joel Plaskett Emergency로도 앨범이 꽤 나왔다. 솔로보다 더. 무슨 차이인지는 잘 모르겠는데 뭐 거기서 거기일 듯. 지미 핸드릭스와 The Jimi Hendrix Experience... 이런 느낌? 뭐 그 외에 다른 밴드활동도 했었다. 영상에선 파릇파릇하지만 좀 된 뮤직비디오라ㅎㅎ 나이가 생각보다 있어서 놀랐던 기억.

구성이랑 화면, 노래까지 마음에 들었던 뮤직 비디오.

순전히 스트록스의 닉이 어릴 적 많이 들었던 그룹이라고 해서 들었던 카스. 닉이나 줄스가 좋아한다고 해서 들은 앨범이 킹크스라던가 조이 디비전, 벨벳 언더그라운드 등 여러 가수들이 있었지만 내가 가장 좋아한는 건 이 중에서 제일 덜 유명한 카스다. 왜인진 모르겠는데 얘네가 더 내 취향에 맞았다.

미국 밴드지만 음악은 좀 더 영국 거 같았다는 느낌... 그래도 듣다 보면 차이는 느껴진다. 1988년까지 활동하다가 해체. 2005년에 The New Cars라는 그룹이 만들어졌는데 원 멤버가 다 있지도 않고, 좀 다르다. 리드 보컬도 다르고, 베이시스트와 드러머도 리드보컬과 함께 하던 사람드로 교체. 결국 원년 멤버는 그렉 혹스(Greg Hawkes)와 엘리엇 이스턴(Elliot Easton) 뿐이라서... 별로 듣고 싶은 생각은 안 들고, 뭐 그러네요.

많은 좋은 곡들이 있지만 내가 제일 좋아하는 Good Times Roll. 길 걸으면서 들으면 이 세월이 가는구나 싶다.

그렉이 추천해 줘서 듣게 된 음악. 사실 그렉이 추천해 준 음악은 굉장히 많지만, 이건 처음 듣자 마자 딱 마음에 들었다. 80년대스러우면서도 촌스럽지 않은 음악. 새로운 트렌드에 부합하면서도 자기만의 스타일이 있는 것 같다. 그렉은 이 노래가 오래된 카세트 테이프를 듣는 느낌이라고 했는데 그 말에 동의한다.

Washed Out의 마이스페이스에 가면 더 많은 음악을 들을 수 있다. 마이스페이스에 가 보니 그렉이 전에도 얘 마이스페이스를 보여줬던 거 같기도 하고(...) 아무튼 마음에 든다! 처음에 MGMT가 생각났었는데, 그보다도 더 좋다는 느낌. 당분간 엠피에서 열심히 굴릴 듯ㅎㅎ

픽시즈 노래 가사가 다 그렇지만 Hey 가사는 특히 정신병자같다. 문제는 노래가 좋다는 건데, 블랙 프랜시스 이 자식 무슨 생각으로 가사가 다 이 따위인가 싶다. 이런 가사의 영향을 커트가 받았겠지... 헤이 가사는 창녀에 대해 다루고 있고 폭력적이기 짝이 없는 가사지만, 그래도 후렴구 만큼은 기가 막히게 좋다. 블랙이 내지르는 We're Chained...는 너무 애처롭고 불쌍한 기분이 든다. 현재에 없는 상대를 갈구하며 찾는 기분이라서 손을 꼭 붙잡고 싶은 그런 느낌.

픽시즈는 블랙 프랜시스와 킴 딜의 박터지는 싸움으로 인한 해체 후 2004년에 재결합했는데 신기하게도 앨범은 아직도 안냈다. 재결합이 맞긴 맞는지 싶을 정도. 그래도 투어는 꾸준히 돌고 있지만..

유튜브에서 1988년의 Hey라이브와 2004년의 Hey 라이브를 보고 이게 동일인물인가 했을 정도로 블랙 프랜시스 많이 늙었더라. 뭔가 기분이.. 신기했다.폴 매카트니는 늙은 모습을 먼저 보고 젊을때 사진을 봐서 그런가 신선했는데, 블랙은 사람 기분 참 묘하게 만들더라.

요새는 Where is my mind?를 계속 듣고 있다. 두 노래를 번갈아 듣고 있자면 참 우울한 기분이 든다.
